(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I've heard so many good things about Design Essentials, and I've actually had these products for a while now but I've never gotten around to using them. They have a Shampoo and Conditioner that's tailored for natural hair so I was pretty stoke about that. Here's how my wash day using only design essentials went: (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle...
As I said in my previous post, dryness is the main consequence of neglecting my hair for a long time, especially my scalp. So I'm back on this wash day routine, and I intend to co wash my hair every week and shampoo my hair once a month to keep my hair hydrated and moisturized. As for my scalp, I have to oil...
Hey guys! It’s been way too long since you’ve heard from me. Boy, have I got a story to tell you! Gather ‘round, gather ‘round young ones, let me tell you how I broke all the rules and treated my hair terribly, but my hair still managed to grow dispite it all! For the past six months or so, I completely neglected my...
My wash day routine hasn't changed much since I became natural, except of course, I've started using more organic products and products tailored for natural textures. Basically, I keep it really simple. Here's how this wash day went:
Products used:
- African Naturalistas Deep Conditioning Mayonnaise
- Camille Rose Naturals Curl Love Moisture Milk
- Oils: Castor oil, Coconut oil, Peppermint, Rosemary, and Lavender oils.
-Deep Conditioned: I parted my hair into eight sections: three in front, three in the middle, and two in the back. I applied AN deep conditioning mayonnaise to each section, covered it in a metallic shower cap, and let it sit for 3 hours.
- Detangled: After deep conditioning, my hair felt like butter! The tangles practically melted away, and using my fingers and a wide toothed comb, I detangled my entire head in a record of 30 minutes. I first applied a little of the oil mixture described above on my finger tips, and then proceeded to remove any knots or tangles first, before using the wide toothed comb to detangle.
- Rinse & Leave-ins: I rinsed out all the product throughly with warm water, (Tip: warm water helps to remove product build up and opens up the hair cuticles) and then towel-dried for about 10 minutes to soak up all the excess water before applying the CRN Curl love moisture milk as my leave in.
- Stretched: After applying my leave-in and detangling once more, I parted my hair in small sections and braided it, in order for my hair to dry in a stretched state without any heat. I covered my hair with a satin scarf and left it in overnight.
- Banded: The next day, I took out the single braids, combed it out, and created 5 big sections on my head. I tied each section with 2 -3 hair bands to stretch it even more.
And that's it! I took out the scruches, fluffed and buffed with my fingers, and voila!
Now I wish the hair could just braid itself 😒😒😒
What's your wash day like? How do you stretch your hair?
Hi Everyone! I'm back! I think this is how I start all of my posts these days (Lol), so I'm going to skip all of the excuses (I've been busy, this is a stressful time for me, blah, blah, blah...) and go right into this post. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); If you follow me on instagram, then you already know that two...
In my previous post, I explained that my wash day routine has been the same for the past couple of months, because I'm transitioning to natural hair, and using wigs in my opinion is the easiest way to deal with different textures (Not to mention, I also work for a Hair Company), so I decided to do a more detailed post about my...
I'm back ladies! (Side Note: That is an EXTREMELY long title...*pensive*) "OMG Yemi, where have you been?!" Is probably the question on a lot of my readers' minds (or maybe not, lol!), and I'm here with an update. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); It's a common thing amongst bloggers after they go AWOL, to say that they had a lot going on, and...
Put me on your healthy hair naughty list. I only moisturized my hair twice between wash days, and my wash days are about 3 weeks apart. Funny enough, my hair stayed soft and moisturised to an extent, but the real issue here is that my length check was an absolute fail! Here's what happened: (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); - Detangled: I took...
I actually did this tutorial back in December, but I just never got around to posting it. I think it's really important to show you guys this technique because it involves getting gorgeous hair without damaging your hair or extensions. For this tutorial, I will be using My Extensionz Whisper Body Wave removable unit, and the best part, no heat is involved! Are...
I fall in love with my hair all over again whenever I take out my cornrows, the volume and thickness is just to die for! However, I will not lie, I do miss how easy it was to part my hair when it was relaxed. Dealing with texlaxed hair and new growth is not easy. Here's how my #washdayexperience went: Products Used:...
