My Wig Regimen

In my previous post, I explained that my wash day routine has been the same for the past couple of months, because I'm transitioning to natural hair, and using wigs in my opinion is the easiest way to deal with different textures (Not to mention, I also work for a Hair Company), so I decided to do a more detailed post about my wig regimen. Here's how it works:


 1. Cornrows: I put my hair in cornrows and leave it in for about 2-3 weeks, during this period, I moisturise and seal daily (or almost never, but I'm supposed to).

 2. Condition: While the cornrows are still in, I co wash or deep condition once a week or as needed, then I air dry.

 3. Shampoo: I shampoo my hair once a month, for this I take down my cornrows, detangle, shampoo, condition, the works.

 4. Dry: I t-shirt dry my hair for a few minutes, then I apply my leave-ins: Mega Growth Daily Leave-in Strengthner, and my Oil Mixture.


Next, I blow dry each section using the Tension Method before putting my hair back in cornrows.



 This regimen helps in protecting my ends, and also allows me to leave my hair alone...most of the time. I

  1. Finally, i saw something worth emulating and so very free handed for me. I've always wanted to grow my hair out as i transition without having to sit down in a saloon and get them braids in. Those seats bite�� mehn. This definitely fits my busy lifestyle and wash regimen. I cannot be caught washing my hair every weekend mbok...nah, I'm that lazy plus hubby says its taking all my time��.
